New TV ad

Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts has dealt a powerful blow to President Obama’s reckless agenda.

The President now admits that his disastrous health care bill has hit a “buzz saw,” and the Democrats are on their heels as they discover that the American people are fed up with reckless spending and bloated government.

We’ve won a big battle, but the war continues, and the fight is now.

I’ve prepared a video message that addresses the challenges was face as 41 Republican senators stand together to block the President Obama’s attempt to expand the federal government at every turn.

This message has not yet aired on television. Before it does, I want to get your feedback. Please watch and then leave a comment to let me know what you think.

This is all part of our effort to fight back against President Obama, and you can help.  Click here to pledge to be a delegate on my behalf at the State Republican Convention.

Join the fight!

You weren’t elected to block everything on Obama’s agenda but to do what is RIGHT for the people. Where did all the “statesmen” go? Everything on his agenda isn’t wrong for the people, like cleaning up the corrupt financial markets that you seem to support. We’re sick of the “TAYLOR MACHINE” in Washington and downright disgusted with most incumbents, especially Republicans right now. What did YOU do for this country when Bush had the power and both houses? Nothing but get us into a senseless war in Iraq and spend blindly. Show us some right answers and stop the blame game. Republicans don’t know everything! It’s time to start working with your partners in Congress.

  2. I like the AD, keep up the good Work. Charles

  3. Jack Bennett says:

I feel that your message is right on target and that the Democrats just want to pass all of these programs without giving the American voters a chance to take a informed look at them. I for one need to take health care very seriously at my age (70) I don’t care for any of the programs that President Obama and the Democrats are trying to shove down our throats. It has been said that our coundtry will fall from within, and President Obama is the one trying to make it happen.

  4. Yvonne Gardner says:

What can we do to stop the criminal activity in Washington? Last time I checked bribery was illegal, serving as President without PROOF of citizenship was illegal, hiring Czars was illegal, forcing through bills without even reading them was illegal. Where are our attorneys that will fight to uphold our Constitution. What can we do to stop our Representatives and Congressmen from selling us out, except vote new ones in that stand up for our Constitution, principles of honesty, integrity and common sense. I am fed up with left and right, Republican and Democrat. Let’s vote someone in that stands for something and that puts those criminals in prison. I personally am tired of them lying through their teeth with all of the side talking and gibberish. We are not stupid, just give it to us straight so we don’t have to try and figure out the hidden agenda. I appreciate that we have a voice in you, please lead the people and help us clean house in Washington.

Obamacare is not living up to his promise of expectation of quality , “people are getting sick of being sick and tried”.
My out of pocket is better then any heath plan I see … example a “Best benefits”, card $ 88.00 a year for any health to hotels etc. . On RX drugs 40% up to % 85.00 off. Statement pay cash … a $350.00 a office ( Ins.) visit will turn to $60-$110.00 out of pocket . A Sweetbay gro. store employee told me that he has to pay 300. per month 1600.00 a year. then pay a 1000.00 deductibles on every need example foot care 1000.00 or broken bone 1000.00 . Eyes 1000.00 etc. get the picture. If you make under 25,000.00 you can get heath care by your county. Example husband and wife works together being self- employed. Your CPA summits 50% husband 50% wife pays your Medcare and S.S. Then deductible cars, gas ,miles , home and health care etc. you will see that you can get med. ins. by the country your premium will be on a sliding scale . Now you can back-up a savings for your own heath care . WE THE POEPLE ARE THE POEPLE TO CARE FOR PEOPLECARE not Obamacare.

Excellent message; too bad you have to be politicaly correct and can’t use the the proper title of COMRADE Obama and his circle of SOCIALIST/PROGRESSIVE advisers. I feel that too many of the U.S. voters do not understand the dangers associated with Comrade Obama’s allegiance to the U.N., Marxism, Socialized Europe and the E.U. The young (18-25) block of voters are totally clueless as to the division of the Asian, European and African continents after WW-2 and the role they play in world politics. Anyone that votes should have some knowledge of world history, marriage and dependents, the I.R.S. tax codes, military theory, political strategies, the role of the federal government, and understand the STATES RIGHTS rights under the constitution. I feel that the Repubs. should set forth some alternative reforms to the Dems instead of de-crying the Dems takeover of the U.S. Everyone should have known before the election of Comrade Obama that he is an idealogic Marxist who had NO experience governing and has surrounded himself with Progressive, Marxist, Communist, anti-Free enterprise czars and advisers and no one should be surprised by the current state of politics. I am a 62 year old Viet Nam Vet and have worked for the I.R.S, the Department of Defense (33 years) and owned two businesses. Patriotism and knowledge are the weapons of choice to defeat the current adminstration. Any Obama voters reading this should be ashamed.

  7. Susan Gray says:

Strong, concise message. This administration has been pushing hidden agendas since day 1. We MUST do all we can to protect and preserve America and our constitution!

  8. Kelly Stanfield says:

I absolutely hate listening to Obama bluster and spew to his adulating crowds overseas on his American Apology Tours. How I see it is him apologizing to the people of the world for all the American blood and treasure spilt and spent to keep many countries free. I would like to email my thoughts in greater form if you give me an email address to Send to. In particular I wish to drum up my Idea to IMPEACH Obama for “FAILURE TO PROPERLY DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION” by inviting Terrorism into New York City bringing over the 5 fools for trail which will make New York City a magnet for terrorism in and around it directly.
Sincerely, a fellow American, Kelly Stanfield hobbitme@earthlink.net

  9. JoDe Miles says:

I could not say it any better than Mr. Hall. His comments were exactly my sentiments. I quote Gordon Hall: “I like the fact that you are out there fighting. PLease make it about direction. I feel that most of the public is getting tired of the eternal republican versus democrat oration. Found your comments and actions in principle, that is where real power is! Please give the public specific direction about what they can do besides donate money to your campaign. Lead us. Thanks for being willing to ask and listen.”

  10. Tyler says:

Thank you for asking, and for all the work you do for us.
I think our society needs to discuss more openly about what principles are. We can say we have “principles” but what exactly does that mean? I think the public would appreciate more if you spoke more specifically about what principles you stand for are, and why we need them.
I also think it’s the same old thing – us against you. Is’nt there some way we can put all of our priniciples together and come to a compromise?
I would rather you say, “Stand up now,” rather than,”the fight is now.” We are talking about our own government and it’s leaders -don’t make it a war among us. It’s time to stand up. But let’s not fight and quibble. But rather: “Stand up for what you believe in. Stand up for your neighbor. Stand up for yourself. Stand up for your family. Stand up for your country.”

  11. Trevor says:

It was good however, I think I would stick with one message, the spending issue and not mention that B.O. needs to stop apologizing for america.

  12. Vernon Cahoon says:

The message resonates well with me. Be prepared to lead in solutions rather than just opposition to the liberal agenda.

  13. Michael Duffin says:

Nice message! Does it include information on how to help or get involved to develop and promote a health care reform package that really represents the will of the American people? Regarding healthcare legislation — and perhaps there is not time to mention this in a 30 second spot — I believe it is important not to imply that we want to scrap health care reform entirely. Most Americans probably want certain changes to our health care system, as long as it fiscally responsible, well constructed, and addresses the real problems.

  14. Laurie says:

Yes the fight is now to get our senators and reps to actually listen to their constituents and vote the way they would vote. Thanks for keeping me updated on the fight to shut down huge government and to give it back to the people. I’m so sick of Obama’s spending! It’s like he’s trying to run us into the ground. Can’t we get rid of him before the full four years is up? What a disaster he is. Please keep trying to uphold our Constitution.

  15. Dann says:

I agree that this message is a good one — with some of the added tweaking comments (i.e. “the administration” instead of “Obama”). In the next advertisements, I would hit the public with principle based solutions on each issue separately. Remember that the voter is disappointed and disillusioned with incumbent politics and promises. I feel that now, more than anytime in the past, we need incumbent leadership that demonstrates integrity and principle based character that does not change positions with the tide of politics. Clarity and an ethos projecting that you are “the servant of the people” is vital to the electorate right now. You have been a great senator like your fathers before you. Keep up the fight and preserve our Republic based on our Constitution and the Declaration which not only declares our “inalienable rights”, but also describes what “bad government” is. Thank you.

  16. Celeste Albright says:

I agree with you about stopping his health-care bill and the other points that are made. However, I feel that we must be more careful about seeming to be “AGAINST” Obama. One person commented earlier to focus more on the administration and not on Obama himself. I agree.

Also, there are those who have said “what is the solution?” and others who say we are a “free nation” and a “free people”. Freedom means that the government doesn’t come up with all our solutions. The solution is to keep government out of our pocket books and let us, the American people, come up with our own solutions. Those who struggle with health-care bills can be more innovative in their solutions for their own problems. While those who are in the health-care profession can take the opportunity to give to their community and show compassionate civil service. AND for those who do not struggle with health-care, who may have the means, can come up with innovative ways to help those who are in need. You want solutions, leave it up to the people!

Give the American people a chance to show their humanity and you will be surprised! Yes, there are those who will remain selfish or still try to get “something for nothing” but that is freedom! Do we preach freedom for some but not for all? We can not regulate every person’s behavior if we are to remain a free people.

    With freedom comes risk!

  17. Mike Konold says:

Short, concise, and to the point. However, I have to agree with Easter about the lack of title for President Obama. Like him or not, he deserves the title. Perhaps the talk show hosts can get away with it but not an elected official.
The conservatives of this country are being heard and I couldn’t be happier. I hope this up swell caries into the midterm elections in November. The pendulum is swinging too far to the left and it needs to come back. I hope your add will help in that effort.

  18. Terry Maxfield says:

My fear is that Republicans have not really heard the message from the American people. I believe that the message you should send is the solution not just criticism of Pres. Obama. Same old Rep. vs. Dem. You need to detail the solution. When the Republicans had the majority they campaigned as Conservatives and then governed like a light version of Liberals. Government is not the solution, it is the problem. Too much Government, too many entitlement programs that bread more Americans that can not take care of them selves. The message that I hope you realize is get Government our of the road. Stop trying to be the answer to every woe of society. Stop spending. Stop the corruption. Adhere to the Constitution.

  19. Ken says:

Good ad. The music is just a little distracting. Maybe more of soft toned drums doing a call to arms.

  20. Alan and Connie says:

We agree. All this nonsence must be stopped. We must get back to the original plan of the government working for the people not the other way around.

  21. Brian says:

Didn’t like the ad. “Stop” is a negative message. Though I agree that the heath care plan is not a good idea, you present no direction, no way that you are going to “stop Obama.” What are you going to do?

  22. Merilynne Whiting says:

Keep up the good work. I like the ad…I agree that this “president” needs to listen to what the people want and not what he can do to control the people.

  23. LaVorn Sparks says:

I am also distraught with the Obama administration. I believe that your “clip” is negative and is only part of the solution. Where are your solutions? We need representatives who have solutions and voice them as well as complain about what is presently being done that we don’t want. I am extremely disappointed with our representation in Congress and suggest that “change we can believe in” will include term limits so that we can make some real changes and expect more than what we have seen for so long. I am looking for positive suggestions and positive actions from my representatives, as I believe that most Americans have begun to show by the last examples of those voted into office. They show Americans voting conservative principles NOT party politics. I believe that Republicans are missing the point as well as Democrats! We want positive action! Get on board with America and do something about it and then we “will believe”

  24. Kendall Rasmussen says:

My computer would not let me see it. But I support you 100%. We must stop this guy. Thanks for all you do for us Kendall

  25. Mike Metzger says:

Good ad… But in my experience a negative ad is going to speak only to those who have the same oppinion, the opposing side will not listen. So if the purose is to rally the troops, good ad, but if you are trying to get the other side interested, the ad should ask more questions to get them (the other side) thinking.

  26. Sheri says:

Good content. You need to sound more dignified and in control rather than desperate. Yes, we’re all upset, but we need a calm, dignified leader with vision to pull us all together. Would a lighter background be more inspiring than black? Maybe a background that inspires more patriotism. You need to represent the light of hope for positive change; not absence of light–i.e. black background.

  27. Jim and Evelyn says:

I agree on your message and we hope more is done to review the policies, agendas and plans the Obama administration have in the wings to derail many of the “GOOD THINGS” that have been done by the Republicans to date! We must “FIX” medicare/medicaid and get rid of the”FRAUD”! Tort reform and a more productive management of accountability and make this system work fairly for all! We are also very concerned about “CAP’N TRADE” along with “GLOBAL WARMING” it may be a scam for profit!

  28. A greater power is still with Americans. The election of Scott Brown in Mass. is proof of that. The Abamacare was set up to just getit passed, right or wrong and then later on trying to correct and make it right. How stupid can we get? Do it right the first time. The Democrats were going to it their way, but found out that the people still have a voice. We all should be for the people and not for a political part. Socialized programs are not right for America and never will be. Let’s get programs that benifit the people of America. Bailing out big corpts and banks is wrong. The very ones that created the trouble in the first place. They should be required to correct their mistakes the same way small businesses do.

  29. Peter Brunson says:

    Content is good.
    Tempo is good.

The “flyin” at about 11 seconds does not work better than a “cut”.

  30. I agree with Karen Johnson’s comment. I am fairly conservative and disagree with much of what the President is pushing, however, the only way to get things accomplished in Washington is to put aside your differences and compromise. It just seems no one is willing to give a little for the benefit of everyone.

  31. Randall says:

I agree in theory, but in principle it seems a little “rhetoric-laden”. Too much we (Republicans) vs they (Democrats)

  32. Gary Cole says:

I am certainly opposed to what appears to be a socialist take over(that appears to be happening). I will say also however that Pres Bush did us no huge favors either. We need less federal government involvement in our daily lives. Nazi Germany started out with the banner of health care for all. I hope that is not where we are headed.

  33. Teresa says:

How refreshing to see our Senator stand up against Obama Health Care Plan. You are a true statemen.

  34. Teddi Patterson says:

Senator bennett, well said, and I think you presented the message with skill and with a powerful soft touch! Obama and the liberal colleages of both political parties need to learn form you and recognize the founding fathers ethics and morality. America, the USA, was established under God’s tutorlege, and for an ensign to the nations of the world. Our past and present leaders in evrery political persuasion have allowed Satan to influence them to make laws that have eroded the decentcy, integrity, and honesty that should reign in the Congress to build up, safeguard, and govern the people of this most blessed land. Keep up the good work and May God bless you to stand in Holy Places always.

  35. Trisha says:

Good ad. I would suggest the attack be more towards what Obama is promoting/doing rather than Obama himself. People who support him won’t listen to anti-Obama type statements, but logical arguments against what he is promoting will be more likely to convince them.

  36. Shanelle says:

I seem to be very much in the minority, but I do not feel like this is a constructive TV ad. As a voter, I do not want to hear about how President Obama needs to be stopped; I want to hear what you plan to DO about it. I don’t feel like this ad gave me any information other than that Republicans disagree with Obama’s administration, which isn’t exactly something I need to be told. I vote based on platform, not based on opposition to the other choice. As a young moderate, this ad would not make me inclined to vote for you, Senator Bennett, or any other Republican.

  37. Dara Walker says:

I think there are probably others like me out there that really don’t know what to think about legislation anymore. There are so many hidden things linked to them…and that should be WRONG! Bills should just be about ONE thing, without “fine print”. It’s deceiving! I think the govt. is sticking its nose in far too many issues, and needs to just focus on upholding the Constitution. It’s “hanging by a thread”! Please do all you can to not let that thread be cut!!

  38. Mike Wood says:

I agree with a previous respondent. Good message, but stick to the primary message, “Stop the limitless spending and socialistic healthcare agenda.” The apology tour should be reserved for another time.

  39. D'Ann Jones says:

Thank you for being willing to put yourself “out there” to stand for less government and less spending of taxpayer dollars. The ad is good even if you leave out “stop apologizing for America”, but I agree with Terry Maxfield, we need solutions not just backlash against democrats. I can’t get excited about switching back and forth between “bad solution” democrats and “no solution” republicans, and both parties have badly “muddied” the waters with all the “pork” attachments to bills passed in congress. So many of the warnings of our founding fathers seem to have come to pass. Is there a way in our complex society to get back to basics.

  40. Connie says:

For the people, by the people has been forgotten in Washington D.C. Thank you for reiterating that aspect. Special interest groups and liberals do not have all our interests at heart and the Constitution is getting ignored or watered down because of it. Again thank you for standing up for the truth.

  41. Kathleen says:

I agree that the music is distracting, but I agree that Obama should stop apologizing for being American. It’s one thing to be open-minded and quite another to not appreciate that we are the most blessed nation in the world and rightfully take pride in the contributions we have made to the earth and it’s people.

  42. Kelly Henderson says:

    Good,
Go with it. Trouble is: we’ve already spent ourselves into oblivia.
I like that you are active on the internet and the town hall meetings on the phone.
True Principled Reagan Conservatism must be resurrected, or the moderate to left Republicans will be thrown out too. Don’t try to tell us you are conservative if you are not ’cause we will see it. This is enough!! Stop creating entitlement programs!! Bush did it and Obama is worse and congress is out of control with it. You all better listen and act responsibly or there will be a voter revolution come November 2010.

    Thanks for acting and asking.

    Kelly Henderson

  43. Lisa says:

There have already been many good comments. I think the Ad is a good one and I apprecriate Senator Bennetts courage to speak out. I always pray that the Good people who are still in government will be heard and those who are destroying our country for their own gain will be discovered and dealt with. I am concerned how the Government is continually trying to pass laws on moral issues. We need God in our lives and those who represent moral values seem to be trampled. This Nation will only succeed as long as we put God first. Our Founding Fathers said it best “In God we Trust”. {not the government.} Keep praying….

  44. Mark Fotheringham says:

I like the first 2/3 of the ad, but I think the addition of the “stop apologizing” statement goes a bit too far. The President has been able to restore some good will internationally by presenting a bit more humble aspect in his dealings with foreign leaders and I think most people recognize that this is good for the country. Hammer away at his domestic, economic gaffs. That’s where the anger is. But adding the apologizing part just makes it seem like you will never like anything the president does: a contrarian rather than a statesman.

  45. Marvin John says:

I appreciate all that you are doing. I believe that for the Republican party to complete the victory we need to return to the ‘party of the people’ and go back to the baseline of core values that made America great. I believe a test should be administered to everyone in Washington on the Constitution and if they can’t pass it without help then they should be required to study until they can pass or go back home. We need to get rid of the ‘liberal’ Republicans and unite all of the conservative Americans under a truly conservative banner. God bless you in all you do and God Bless America.

  46. Tyler Olson says:

If I were you Senator I along with the rest of the Republicans would NOT NOT TRUST OBAMA NOR NEGOTIATE with him on Health Care Reform. He has got to be so focused on himself that he will LIE or do whatever is necessary to seize more power. I would urge the rest of the Republican party NOT TO NEGOTIATE with this man. He is so hungry for POWER that it’s rediculous.

  47. Scott Brown ran a extraordinary drive. He got out there and did what anybody campaigning for political office should do – he spoke to people, but more significantly, he listened to them. He ran to the urban centers, the suburbias and the townships, all over the land. He ran a just campaign. He talked to the issues that involved the citizenry of Massachussetts. Never mind that the people already have health care…that turned in his favor for sure, but it wasn’t the sole thing on peoples’ minds.
